BOMBER HATS

So I was looking through my usual magazines (Vogue,GQ, V Man, GQ Style, DETAILS, Harper's Bazaar, Elle), I have to say l loved the look of D&G's fall ads with its dark country feel. The collection seems to be a change from the fashion houses normal looks (which I love.) What caught my eye were the enormous fur hats that the men are wearing. What better way to survive the winter in style! Im not a big fan of snow but with one of these hats I'll take the risk. Now these hats probably look extremely large off the catwalk and in mags, so try these smaller more wearable sizes, my favorite being the UGG Trapper Hat.

Economy got you down? Instead of spending your money on trendy pieces that last only until the next season catwalks, the "trend" this year is to save your money for those signature pieces. Sure your still spending a decent amount of money, but, for pieces that will last you years. Black lasts all 4 seasons and goes with everything ( and is very slimming as apparel.)

A great addition to those cold winters in the wind and snow has to be these classic hand warmers. Not just for jewelry thieves, these can add the extra something to your winter looks. Simple black goes with everything, but these leather gauntlets come in many colors and styles, as well can include cashmere and fur inside them.

I was at a Saks not to long ago and came across a bunch of amazing hi tops from the sneaker label, Creative Recreation. So no doubt I had to post a couple of shoes from their line. I am only showing about 3 but there are dozens in many different colors and styles.

THE GREY SCALE

Something else to add to your already full closet would have to be one of these grey suits. With so many different shades that can move from the fall to spring and back. What I find interesting is the black lining in Moschino's look that many of the other jackets do not taking beyond the office. So give that black suit a rest for your next party at the Hilton, or when your not looking forward to the beginning of the week. Hell, pair a nice pink button up with a nice shade of grey pants, walking around the mall. I always feel better when I go anywhere looking good, dont you?

DARE TO BE DIFFERENT

This is for those who don't mind standing out in the crowd. Many times I feel men's fashion is not as creative as women's which probably comes from societies views on how a man should dress, but we wont get into that. Now I'm not saying wear a tutu and t-shirt walking around the mall, or tights and skirt to work. But don't always feel the need to look like everyone else. Let that freedom of expression we are allowed show through with what your wearing. I enjoy the Romanticism of Lanvin's sleeveless jacket, and studded rocker shoes of John Galliano. Whats interesting is the contrast of tuxedo top portion with the shorts and sleeveless gloves from Obedient Sons. Even for the office you can add color with the look from Etro.

For the people who rely only on their phone to check the time, this is for you. These simple watches from Swatch watch have a light and classy feel to them. Can be paired with a suit for the office, or a graphic tee and jeans. And the prices are not bad either. Looking good at any price.

SCOTTISH FEVER

All throughout many of the fall collections tartan dominated the runway. From tartan shirts to scarves to even tarten suits. Gilded Age's look gives that rugged and sexy "im not trying but i did" feel, while Dsquared2 (second from the left) added the tarten button up, as a kick to the simple black pants and grey V neck sweater. Take notice: the Dsquared2 look on the end combines lace up boots, with pins to the jacket with a tarten scarf.(See previous posts...)

STOMP THE YARD

Seen in a couple of the collections for the fall/winter were boots. What else to trek through the 10 inches of snow but these fashionable shoes. Seen from the collections above, you can use these boots with many different styles. Belstaff paired thier boots with a suit and tie where as Dolce and Gabbana took there look in another direction with a simple buttoned V neck and pants. With the lace up boots from Dsqaured2 to the riding boots from Dolce & Gabbana, these shoes are not exclusively used just for digging and riding Flicka.

JACKETS FOR THE FALL

As we pack away our sandels and school supply sales start to spring up on TV again, I feel it only right to show jackets for the fall season. Always nice with a pair of brown or black leather gloves. Even the extra flair of the red gloves found in the Lanvin collection could add some interest to your outfit. What I found the most interesting in the group is the Gianni Versace jacket. With the placements of the buttons in a V formation and its geometric cut, instead of the standard way of the other jackets. The Obedient Sons jacket gives that feel of old Hollywood, with its Cary Grant type look.

ACCESSORIZE

Sometimes an outfit needs that tiny thing to bring it together. Why not try a pin or patches to add that extra something to your look? I know what your thinking, and adding a mroatch (man-broach) to your outfit may seem a little...out there....but not all pins have to peacocks and cheetahs. Take for example the Vivienne Westwood Bar Relief Broach or how about the ancestral crest patches as seen on Vogue Editor at Large, Andre' Leon Talley. Lately I've taken to adding a mix of the different pins from the presidential candidate im voting for and adding them to my vests or jackets. Fashionable and political.

Welcome to Monsieur Homme Inc. a men's fashion blog. I created this blog as a way to dig more into men's fashion, that I feel I'm not always getting from other areas on the subject. I would like to talk about all areas of men's fashion from business casual, to accessories to urban streetwear. I think its time to wake up men's fashion from more than just a t-shirt and jeans, or a button-up, dress pants and a tie, but still keeping within everyones personal style. As well I invite others to voice their opinions about a certin look or new things they like for the season. Please enjoy!
